Thank you for participating in the 2022 Healthy Human Race. The familiar faces and vibrant conversations at packet pick-up filled my heart with joy. I’m so thankful for our community and want to extend a special welcome to any one who came from afar to joining us for a run.
At this time I will step out of my race director shoes and use my meteorology degree. There is a chance of rain and storms Saturday morning. I want to let you know what would happen if one of the storms present a danger.
As of this evening’s models, the storms/rain look to be pop-corn in nature – small but scattered and spaced out. I do not see a strong risk for hail, damaging winds, or tornadoes, but lighting is a possibility.
- If storms with lightning would be present at the start time(s) we would delay the race(s).
- If the storms with lightning would be present during the race(s), we would ask you to take shelter. The race volunteers would also begin to communicate to runners to take shelter.
The below images have listed potential shelter locations. Please keep this available for reference.
I will communicate via our Facebook page if the race is suspended/delayed. I will also make a post once it is safe to resume the race or we’ve determined new start times.
Again, this is a very small chance, but it’s important you’re aware.
Thank you for running with us!
